1988
Sylvie Sempo, of teacher education, and Alain Limbos, teacher of physical education, decide to make a career break to launch out in the great adventure of the production of hazelnut crunch and other products intended to pastry shops, chocolate factories and ice makers.
The company Silly (nickname of Sylvie) is created in May 1988 in the form of a cooperative society.
1988-1992
After approximately 4 years of activity, and a turnover having almost quadrupled (to reach 500,000 Euro end of 1991), the company Silly changes its status and becomes a Public limit company (in April 1992).
1992-1999
Thanks to its products and with the development of consumer loyalty of its customers, the company Silly continues to develop and sees its turnover varying in the neighborhoods of 2 Mio. EUR.
1999
A company takeover arises to Sylvie and Alain who decide to buy the Antwerps company Sukro which produces nougatine in the form of plates (rounds, squares and rectangles) or of granules.
2002
With an aim of rationalization, the company Sukro is merged by absorption in the company Silly.
2003
Hazelnut crunch meeting more and more success by its customers, the acquisition of a production line of hazelnut crunch makes it possible for the company to go up from a capacity of 1,000 kg/day to more than 4,000 kg/day (in 1 shift).
2007
The production site of the Bld. Bockstael (Laeken) becoming somewhat exiguous and obsolete, and after many research, the company Silly becomes owner of a new production site on the commune of Jette (Region of Brussels-Capital), with a built surface of more than 5,000 squ. meters.
2008
With an aim of the extension of its activities, the company decides to buy a second production line of hazelnut crunch which carries the full capacity of production to 8,000 kg/day (in 1 shift).
2010
On June 28th 2010, the company Silly has moved and installed on its new production site of Jette.
